Saturday afternoon

Well it's been a good day so far. My mother and i both slept in until almost 11am, very nice. We both had a late night and so sleeping in felt good.

When i got up i took a quick shower and freshened myself up as my mother went through her morning routine, taking her pills, using her inhalers, etc. When we were each done, i made her breakfast, two crumpets with strawberry jam and a cup of tea. Since i am trying to get into the habit of eating breakfast too, so that i can take my diabetic medication, i had a bowl of cereal. It's so hard for me to eat first thing in the day, i'm just not hungry and have no appetite.

After we ate i called my sister. She apologized for letting me down last night, which was fine. Something came up for her and she had to go out. She popped over around noon and the two of us went for a brisk walk around the neighbourhood. We were gone for almost an hour... that's a start, it felt wonderful and cleared my foggy head.

As we walked and talked... my sister described to me some difficulties she is having. Financial woes mainly... but she had a suggestion. How about she give up her place and come and live with mother and i? Wow, shocker. Are things that bad? Well yes and no she says... she thought it would be a good idea to come live here and help out with mother. Brilliant idea on the surface but will have to think about it. Of course if we broach the subject with our mother, i've no idea what her reaction will be. Would this mean i could go back to work... no, because Sue works and my mother still requires full time care... but the three of us sharing costs would be a lot easier for me, sharing a third of the bills, etc as opposed to half.

I have to weigh the pros and cons... though right now i'm really liking the idea the more i think about it.

Well, mother has had lunch, i have tidied up and done the dishes and now she has fallen asleep. A good time for me to nap.

Will write more later.

Oh yes, the Canucks won in double overtime last night, go Canucks! Dave still owes me that loonie and i will collect!

Zzzzzzz!
